Welcome to my Website
Research, writing, and publishing – I’ve been involved with two of them for most of my business career; however, upon transitioning into writing and publishing, my research, and plenty of it, has taken on new meaning. Some of my research has led to writing narratives designed for my family. A novella about one of my uncles is an example. Compiling, editing, and publishing my father’s autobiography is another, and researching and writing a family genealogy and history is yet another. My books about two shipwrecks, the Sindia, 1901, and Faithful Steward, 1785, required thorough research and resulted in publishing two historical fiction novels, stories that no one else has undertaken to write a substantial work about. I do what the historian does – I read, review, and evaluate the known facts about the topic I wish to create a story about. And then another step follows. There is much digging and searching with the hope of finding additional details, discoveries to include in the story. I take my research and writing seriously because it’s my responsibility and my goal to take the reader back in time, and by doing so, lead them forward by making them feel and think they are part of history and the events about to unfold. On September 12, 2026, I released my memoir about Growing Up in my hometown and life in the Indian Valley. The idea was derived from a Facebook page covering history in my area. It’s a group with 10,000 members, and that’s a substantial audience to cultivate book sales. My forthcoming blog post will discuss my next step, which is to research and write the story of the Severn, a British merchant ship that wrecked off Lewes, Delaware, in 1774.
